V Rising Servant Mission Guide: Maximize Efficiency
Servants are your passive resource engine in V Rising. Send them on missions to collect materials, blood, and loot while you focus on hunting bosses and building your castle. The right servant setup means you never run out of resources.
Mission Durations
Missions fall into three categories: Reckless (2h/4h) with success penalties, Normal (8h) as the baseline, and Carefully Planned (16h/23h) with success bonuses. Shorter missions are more resource-efficient per hour, while longer missions have higher success rates and more total loot.
| Duration | Success Modifier | Loot Factor | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 hours | -10% | 1.0x | Active players checking often |
| 4 hours | -5% | 1.5x | Semi-active play |
| 8 hours | +0% | 2.0x | Balanced playstyle |
| 16 hours | +10% | 2.5x | Workday AFK |
| 23 hours | +20% | 3.0x | Overnight / vacation |
Blood Type Matching by Region
Each region has dominant blood types, and our Servant Optimizer breaks this down further with 42 per-location hunt targets across 7 regions, each showing gear score requirements, servant slot counts, perk demands, and loot tables. Sending servants with matching blood types to the correct location significantly increases mission success rates. See our Blood Type Guide for details on each type.
| Region | Dominant Blood | Mission Levels |
|---|---|---|
| Farbane Woods | Creature | 16-45 |
| Dunley Farmlands | Worker | 36-64 |
| Hallowed Mountains | Warrior | 56-80 |
| Cursed Forest | Scholar | 56-78 |
| Silverlight Hills | Rogue | 60-80 |
| Gloomrot | Mutant | 70-84 |
| Oakveil Woodlands | Brute | 80-86 |
| Ruins of Mortium | Draculin | 70-91 |
Higher blood quality servants have better base stats, which directly improves mission success rates. Always try to convert 80%+ quality humans into servants.
Success Rate Mechanics
Mission success is calculated from multiple factors. Understanding these helps you maximize the odds of bringing back valuable loot.
Servant gear score
Higher gear score means better mission stats. Equip your servants with the best gear you can spare. Even old gear you have outgrown is useful here.
Blood type match
Servants with blood types matching the region get a significant bonus. A Warrior blood servant sent to Dunley performs much better than a Scholar blood one.
Mission duration
Reckless missions (2h, 4h) have success rate penalties. Normal (8h) is the baseline. Carefully Planned missions add +10% (16h) or +20% (23h) success bonuses. Use longer durations for difficult locations.
Servant expertise and perks
Servants gain expertise from successful missions, improving base stats over time. Additionally, five servant perks (Tracking Expertise, Humble Appearance, Tenacious Strength, Military Tactics, Sacred Resistance) each reduce Hunt Difficulty by 100 when matched to a location's requirements. Assign perks strategically to cover your target hunt locations.
Servant Roster Management
Your castle level determines how many servants you can have. Plan your roster to cover all the regions you need resources from.
| Castle Level | Solo Max | Duo Max |
|---|---|---|
| Castle Heart 1 | 4 servants | 2 servants |
| Castle Heart 2 | 5 servants | 3 servants |
| Castle Heart 3 | 6 servants | 4 servants |
| Castle Heart 4 | 7 servants | 5 servants |
| Castle Heart 5 | 8 servants | 5 servants |
Common Mistakes
Sending servants to mismatched regions
A Scholar blood servant sent to Farbane Woods will perform poorly. Always match blood type to region for optimal results.
Ignoring servant gear
Unequipped servants have terrible success rates. Even basic gear makes a significant difference. Hand down your old equipment to servants.
Always using short missions
Short missions are less efficient per hour. Use 8+ hour missions when you are sleeping or away for better loot multipliers and success rates.

Use the Servant Optimizer Tool
Our Servant Optimizer has three tabs — Servant Roster, Roster Architect, and Reference Guide — to help you build the perfect servant team for every hunt location.
Manage your full servant roster with blood type, home region, and perk assignments — each servant gets faction bonuses from their region automatically
Use the Roster Architect to select hunt locations you want to farm, then get a recommended roster of specific blood type and region combos (e.g., 2 Silverlight Workers, 1 Gloomrot Scholar) plus filler servants for extra slots — with full coverage analysis against your current roster
Plan around the five perk types (Tracking Expertise, Humble Appearance, Tenacious Strength, Military Tactics, Sacred Resistance) — each reduces Hunt Difficulty by 100
