NIKKE Overload Gear Guide: Maximize Your Stats

Overload Gear is the endgame gear system in NIKKE. Getting the right substats on your gear can mean the difference between barely clearing content and dominating it. This guide covers everything from substat priorities to efficient rerolling strategies.

How Overload Gear Works

To overload gear, you need Tier 9 manufacturer-matching equipment at maximum level. Overloading converts it to Tier 10, adding up to 3 substat lines that dramatically boost your stats. Important: overloaded gear becomes locked to the equipped NIKKE and cannot be unequipped.

Tier 9 Equipment

Only T9 manufacturer gear can be overloaded. It must be at max level before overloading becomes available.

Maximum Level

Gear must be fully leveled before you can apply a Custom Module to convert it to T10 overload gear.

Manufacturer Match

The gear manufacturer must match the character. Elysion gear on Elysion characters, Tetra gear on Tetra characters, Pilgrim gear on Pilgrim characters, and so on.

Overloaded gear is permanently locked to the equipped character. Choose carefully which character gets your best gear, because you cannot transfer it later.

Substat Priorities

Each overload line rolls a random substat. Knowing what to aim for on each character is crucial.

Overload Line Unlock Chances

Not all 3 lines are guaranteed. The chance decreases with each additional line.

Line 3

Rare - celebrate when you get it

Lock in Line 3 first when you get a good substat on it. Since Line 3 only has a 30% chance to unlock, locking it early saves you Custom Modules on rerolls. You can always reroll Lines 1 and 2 more cheaply later.

Reroll Strategy

Custom Modules let you reroll substats. Use them wisely since they are limited.

Identify Target Stats

Before rerolling, know exactly which substats you want. ATK% and ATK are almost always correct for DPS characters.

Lock Good Lines

If you rolled a great substat on one line, lock it before rerolling the others. Locking costs extra modules but protects your progress.

Prioritize Line 1

Since Line 1 is guaranteed, get it right first. Good Line 1 + any Line 2 is better than mediocre everything.

Know When to Stop

Getting perfect substats on all 3 lines is extremely rare. A good Line 1 and Line 2 with a decent Line 3 is already excellent.

Custom Module Farming

Custom Modules are the currency for rerolling. You get roughly 2 per day from Special Interception.

Special Interception

Primary source. Run daily for consistent module income. Higher difficulty gives slightly better rewards.

Events

Limited-time events occasionally reward Custom Modules. Always clear event shops that stock them.

Shop

Some shops sell modules for in-game currency. Check weekly reset shops for good deals.

Common Gear Mistakes

Overloading Wrong Manufacturer

Double-check the manufacturer match before overloading. Wasted materials on mismatched gear cannot be recovered.

Rerolling Without a Plan

Random rerolling burns through Custom Modules fast. Always know your target substats before spending.

Ignoring Gear on Supports

Supports benefit from ATK% and skill-related stats too. A well-geared support can provide 20-30% more buff value.
