NIKKE Roster Management Guide: Build a Winning Collection

Building an effective NIKKE roster is about making smart investment choices. With hundreds of characters to collect and limited resources, knowing who to prioritize and how to allocate materials makes the difference between a stuck Commander and one who clears every game mode.

Character Investment Priority

Not all NIKKEs are created equal. Here is how to prioritize your investments for maximum roster impact.

Core DPS (Invest First)

Your main damage dealers for Campaign and Raids. Prioritize skill levels and limit breaks for these characters. Examples include top-tier Burst III attackers.

Key Supports (Invest Second)

ATK buffers, crit buffers, and CDR supports that multiply your DPS output. Their skill levels directly affect buff strength, so invest in skills early.

Mode Specialists (Invest Third)

Characters that excel in specific modes like PvP Arena, Tribe Tower, or Interception. Build these once your core team is solid.

Collection & Niche (Lowest Priority)

Characters for specific boss counters or future use. Keep them leveled via Synchro Device but hold off on skill books and limit break materials.

Understanding Synchro Device

The Synchro Device is the most important roster mechanic. It sets a shared base level for all your characters based on your 5 highest-leveled NIKKEs.

Level Your Top 5 First

Only 5 characters need manual leveling. Everyone else matches the lowest of your top 5 automatically through the Synchro Device.

Never Waste Level Materials

Pour all character EXP and credits into your top 5. Spreading resources thin means a lower Synchro level for everyone.

Roster Size Matters

You need enough characters to fill the Synchro Device slots. Collecting more SSR characters (even ones you do not use) frees up your top 5 to push higher levels.

Check your Synchro Device level regularly. It is the single biggest factor in your combat power across all game modes.

Limit Break & Core Upgrade Strategy

Limit breaks require duplicate characters or Universal Molds. SSR characters have 3 limit break levels, each requiring one duplicate. After reaching LB3, you unlock the Core Level system for further stat upgrades.

LevelRequirementEffect
Limit Break 11 duplicate or Mold+2% stats, level cap increase
Limit Break 22 duplicates total+4% stats total, further level cap increase
Limit Break 3 (MLB)3 duplicates total+6% stats total, unlocks Core Level system
Core 1-7Spare body labels (from dupes beyond MLB)+2% stats per core level (up to +14% additional)

Focus limit breaks on your top 5 Synchro characters first. Universal Molds are rare, so spend them on characters that will stay in your lineup for months. Core upgrades are the same concept as limit breaks, just extended further past MLB.

Skill Leveling Priorities

Each character has a Burst skill, Skill 1, and Skill 2 that level from 1 to 10 using Skill Manuals. Normal attacks cannot be leveled with skill books. The jump from level 1 to 10 is massive for buff and debuff values.

Burst Skills (Highest Priority)

Burst skills define a character. Level these first on your main DPS and key supports. The scaling from 1 to 10 can double or triple buff percentages.

Skill 2 (High Priority)

Often provides core passive buffs or secondary damage. Usually more impactful per skill point than Skill 1.

Skill 1 (Medium Priority)

Passives and minor buffs. Important but usually lower scaling than Burst and Skill 2.

Common Roster Mistakes

Spreading Resources Too Thin

Building 20 characters to level 100 is worse than building 5 to level 200. Focus your investments.

Ignoring the Synchro Device

Your roster is only as strong as your Synchro level. Pushing your top 5 higher lifts everyone.

Hoarding All Resources

Saving everything for a future meta character means your current team underperforms for months. Invest in your best available characters now.
